Supplements for Sugar Cravings: Evidence, Options & Ozzi

Some supplement ingredients have human evidence related to hunger, food intake or fullness, but those outcomes are not identical to reducing sugar cravings. Chromium and konjac are useful examples; allulose and butyrate bring different glucose and gut-signaling evidence. We created Ozzi to bring these research areas into a caffeine-free cravings routine. Here is how we read the studies and where our product fits.
What should a sugar-craving supplement actually help with?
First identify the problem you want to address: feeling hungry, wanting something sweet, or repeatedly reaching for an unplanned snack. A study that improves one measure does not automatically prove an effect on all three. We focus our product promise on cravings and food noise, and keep the published ingredient findings separate from customer experience.
Compare the evidence, not just the ingredient names
| Ingredient | Finding to know | How we apply it |
|---|---|---|
| Chromium | A trial in 42 women reporting carbohydrate cravings tested 1,000 mcg/day chromium picolinate for eight weeks; 40 were analyzed. Food intake, hunger and fat cravings declined relative to placebo. Anton SD et al., 2008 | A relevant appetite signal, not proof of the same effect from chromium polyursolate in Ozzi. |
| Konjac glucomannan | A higher-viscosity breakfast improved appetite ratings, while a separate eight-week capsule trial found no advantage for hunger or fullness. Shang L et al., 2020; Keithley JK et al., 2013 | Fiber form, amount and meal context matter. |
| Allulose | Human meal studies include lower post-meal glucose and measured GLP-1 responses. Franchi F et al., 2021; Noh J et al., 2026 | These outcomes inform the drink; they do not establish immediate sugar-craving relief. |
| Butyrate | One sodium-butyrate trial reported higher GLP-1; another found no significant GLP-1 change. Roshanravan N et al., 2017; Amiri P et al., 2025 | Population and formulation differ, so we explain delivery and endpoints. |
| African mango and ursolic acid | Metabolic research includes both positive and null findings. Ngondi JL et al., 2009; Nonsa-Ard R et al., 2022; Rafiee P et al., 2024 | Supporting research context, not direct proof of fewer evening snacks. |
A closer look at chromium and cravings
Chromium has a more direct appetite study than many ingredients promoted solely through blood-sugar mechanisms. That makes it worth discussing, while keeping the exact population and picolinate form clear. The trial's weight-change difference did not reach statistical significance. Our capsule label supplies 300 mcg chromium through a different form, Metabolex chromium polyursolate; we do not claim this replicates the trial dose or result. Anton SD et al., 2008.
A closer look at fullness and fiber
Glucomannan's viscosity helps explain the interest in fullness, but taking a capsule is not identical to eating a specially designed breakfast. Read positive appetite-rating findings alongside the standalone trial that did not improve hunger, fullness or weight. More fiber is not automatically a better fit; water directions and the full formula matter.
Konjac glucomannan · 2013 · Human trial
53 overweight or moderately obese adults; randomized trial; 1.33 g before each of three meals, with water, for eight weeks.
This trial did not find an advantage over placebo for hunger, fullness or body weight. It helps define the limits of claims that glucomannan supplements consistently work for everyone.
Why we built Ozzi for the evening
Our goal was a practical ritual for the time of day when food noise can feel hardest to ignore: a flavored drink without caffeine, with ingredients chosen for appetite-related research. That is a product-design choice, not evidence that evening use has outperformed another time in an Ozzi trial.
Our drink contains six actives: allulose, konjac glucomannan, L-lysine butyrate (BIOMEnd), African mango, ursolic acid and chromium. One stick contains 8 g allulose. Ursolic acid and chromium are supplied together through Metabolex chromium polyursolate, and we explain them as separate ingredients. See the full amounts and current labels.
Our capsules contain the five actives other than allulose. Their 3-capsule label declares 300 mcg chromium and a 1.15 g proprietary blend; individual blend amounts are not disclosed. Chicory root inulin remains listed under Other Ingredients on that label, not as a featured active. Compare our capsule format.
We do not include berberine in our formula. We also do not present gymnema, magnesium, zinc or L-glutamine as Ozzi actives. When comparing another product, check its own label and evidence rather than assuming any “craving support” blend has the same ingredients or outcomes.
How to use Ozzi when snack cravings hit
For a drink, mix one stick in 16–20 oz cold water and follow the current label. Our capsules can be taken as 3 capsules with at least 12 oz water when cravings hit, as an alternative to an unplanned snack, or before a meal. Follow their label for spacing and daily use. If you are hungry because you need food, a meal or planned snack may be the right choice; Ozzi is not a meal replacement.
We do not promise relief within a fixed number of minutes or a permanent reset of cravings. Notice your own pattern of unplanned snacking and food noise during the challenge instead of increasing servings to chase a stronger effect.
What about digestive tolerance and medications?
Tolerance depends on the ingredient, amount and person. Our allulose side-effects guide distinguishes smaller servings, larger experimental doses and different products. If you use glucose-lowering medicines or have a medical condition affecting what you can take, bring the complete label to your clinician or pharmacist. Do not use a supplement guide to change a prescription or plan a medication taper.
Try a routine you can judge
We built the 14-Day Ozzi Challenge around your experience of cravings and food noise. Take Ozzi for 14 consecutive days. If those are not quieter, request a refund of your first bag or bottle within 28 days of delivery, under the policy terms. It is a product guarantee, not a clinical trial or a promise that everyone responds.
Common questions
What is the best supplement for sugar cravings?
There is no established best choice for everyone. Look for the outcome actually studied, the tested form and amount, and whether the product fits your routine. We designed Ozzi around cravings and food noise, with ingredient evidence available for review.
Do quieter cravings guarantee weight loss?
No. Customer experiences of quieter cravings do not establish a predictable weight-loss result. We have not completed a clinical trial of the finished Ozzi formula.
Can I take Ozzi before a meal?
Our capsules can be taken before a meal or when snack cravings hit: 3 capsules with at least 12 oz water, following the current label for spacing and daily use.
Where can I read the studies?
Our Research library lists individual studies, tested amounts, populations and findings. The ingredient page explains how those studies relate to our drink and capsule formulas.
