What GLP-1 does
GLP-1 is a hormone involved in the response to food. It helps regulate glucose-dependent insulin secretion and participates in appetite and digestive signaling. The hormone your body releases and a prescription medicine acting on GLP-1 receptors are related concepts, with different exposures and evidence.
What natural GLP-1 support means at Ozzi
Yes, we describe Ozzi as a natural GLP-1 support supplement. We chose ingredients with research on fullness, post-meal glucose and gut signaling, and built a caffeine-free routine around cravings and food noise. This does not mean that every ingredient has increased GLP-1 in a human trial or that our finished formula has been clinically proven to do so.
Our drink contains six actives: allulose, konjac glucomannan, L-lysine butyrate (BIOMEnd), African mango, ursolic acid and chromium. One stick contains 8 g allulose. Ursolic acid and chromium are supplied together through Metabolex chromium polyursolate, and we explain them as separate ingredients. See the full amounts and current labels.
What the human studies show
Allulose has acute human GLP-1 findings at 25 g in an intragastric experiment and at 10 g in a 2026 meal experiment. A longer trial in type 2 diabetes did not improve incretin outcomes. Butyrate also has human research: one sodium-butyrate trial found higher GLP-1, while another found no significant change. The appropriate conclusion is promising, context-dependent evidence, rather than either “only mouse studies” or a universal result.

Allulose · 2026 · Human trial
Two exploratory investigations, 10 participants each; 25 g carbohydrate testing and a separate 10 g allulose plus meal experiment.
In the meal experiment, 10 g allulose lowered post-meal glucose and insulin responses and increased circulating active GLP-1 compared with the meal alone. A statistically significant satiety improvement was reported for resistant maltodextrin, not allulose.
New 2026 direct human GLP-1 evidence near the 8 g serving. Small exploratory sample, multiple outcomes, and different meal context warrant replication; it does not establish GLP-1 release from 8 g Ozzi.
Allulose · 2022 · Human trial
18 healthy adults; randomized double-blind crossover; 25 g allulose delivered into the stomach, with or without lactisole.
Allulose increased GLP-1, PYY and CCK relative to water. Blocking the intestinal sweet-taste receptor with lactisole did not stop these responses, indicating that this receptor was not the mediator under the tested conditions.
Direct hormone evidence, but not an 8 g dose study. Do not credit allulose with the significant fullness or delayed gastric emptying findings observed for erythritol in the same paper.

16 adults with type 2 diabetes; randomized crossover; 7 g twice daily for 12 weeks versus aspartame.
Allulose did not significantly improve glucose homeostasis, incretin levels or body composition. HDL cholesterol decreased and MCP-1 increased during the allulose period.
Relevant counterpoint to acute glucose and hormone findings; the small trial does not establish universal harm, but prevents a one-sided long-term benefit claim.
Butyrate · 2017 · Human trial
60 adults with type 2 diabetes; four groups; sodium butyrate, inulin, both or placebo for 45 days.
Sodium butyrate alone and the butyrate–inulin combination increased GLP-1 compared with placebo. Several other changes were confined to combination treatment or comparisons within a group.
Direct human hormone evidence for sodium butyrate, not a trial of Ozzi’s L-lysine form. The associated experimental program used 600 mg sodium butyrate daily; keep inulin identified as a study co-intervention, not an Ozzi active.

50 adults with obesity; randomized trial; 600 mg sodium butyrate daily plus calorie restriction versus placebo plus the same diet for eight weeks.
The trial reported favorable metabolic and anthropometric changes alongside altered expression of energy-metabolism genes. Serum GLP-1 did not significantly change.
Benefits can be discussed without forcing a GLP-1 explanation. Some abstract results emphasize changes within treatment; do not present all as proven between-group effects.

Sample handling materially affected hormone recovery, and cooling plus DPP-4 inhibition helped preserve intact GLP-1. Total and active GLP-1 assays measure different molecular pools and need different interpretation.
Supports a short explanation of measurement complexity. It does not justify assuming that a null GLP-1 result hides efficacy.

Why measuring GLP-1 is demanding
Active GLP-1 breaks down quickly. Collection conditions, DPP-4 inhibition, assay selection and whether a paper measures active or total GLP-1 matter. These are reasons to read methods carefully. They do not turn a missing measurement into evidence of benefit.
How our serving relates to the research
Our 8 g allulose serving was informed by glucose studies, including 7.5 and 10 g alongside a sucrose drink. It was not selected to replicate the 25 g GLP-1 experiment. An ingredient amount, a circulating hormone result and a change in snacking are separate questions.
Choosing a practical format
Our capsules contain the five actives other than allulose. Our 3-capsule label declares 300 mcg chromium and a 1.15 g proprietary blend; individual blend amounts are not disclosed. Chicory root inulin remains listed under Other Ingredients on that label, not as a featured active. Compare our capsule format.
For our capsules, take 3 with at least 12 oz water when cravings hit, as an alternative to an unplanned snack, or before a meal. Follow the current label for spacing and daily use. Mix a drink stick in 16–20 oz cold water. Neither format replaces a needed meal or a prescribed treatment.
Common questions
Is natural GLP-1 the same as a GLP-1 medication?
No. Natural GLP-1 is a hormone your body releases. GLP-1 receptor agonists are prescription medicines. A supplement designed around related pathways does not have interchangeable dosing or clinical effects.
Has Ozzi completed a clinical trial?
We have not completed a clinical trial of the finished formula for appetite, snacking or weight loss. Our research library identifies ingredient studies and their tested forms and amounts.
