How it started
For years I ate well all day and lost the whole thing after dinner. Kayla, now my wife, kept finding me on the couch surrounded by wrappers, already regretting it, still reaching for one more.
"You're going to get diabetes like my dad. Do you really want that?"
She was right. So I tried every low-sugar gummy on the market. They tasted like flavored rubber, and one evening went badly enough that she named me the toot factory and banned them from the house.
Then I tried making my own, which ended the day she found the counter. Then drink formulas, which only worked when I added caffeine, which is a strange thing to hand someone at 9pm.
